The Opportunity
Wisdom RecruitmentS is seeking a dynamic and resilient nursing leader to fill the role of Director of Emergency Services for a major healthcare facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), you will oversee the full spectrum of ER operations. This role demands a strategic thinker who can balance clinical excellence with operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for mentoring a high-performing team, maintaining rigorous accreditation standards, and driving the financial health of the department.
Key Responsibilities
β€ Departmental Strategy: Direct all ER operations, ensuring seamless patient flow and high-quality emergency care.
β€ Leadership & Culture: Manage and mentor staff to build a cohesive team focused on clinical safety and quality initiatives.
β€ Operational Governance: Develop and enforce departmental policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations.
β€ Financial Accountability: Manage the ER budget, monitor productivity metrics, and optimize resource allocation.
β€ Compliance: Prepare and maintain all necessary accreditations and ensure the department is “survey-ready” at all times.
β€ Provider Collaboration: Facilitate and strengthen relationships with hospital providers to improve inter-departmental synergy.
Candidate Requirements
Must-Haves:
β Education: Bachelorβs Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
β Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of healthcare experience, including at least three (3) years in a leadership/management role.
β Licensure: Current New Mexico RN license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start).
β Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. (TNCC must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
β Core Skills: Proven experience in program development, budget management, and strong interpersonal human relations.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
β Advanced Education: MSN, MBA, or Masterβs in Healthcare Administration.
β Profit Sector Experience: Previous experience in a for-profit hospital setting is strongly preferred.
β Strategic Growth: A track record of building teams and facilitating provider relationships.
