Job Title: Lead Data Scientist
Location: Houston, TX 77024 (On-site)
Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Salary: $125,000 to $140,000

What You’ll Be Doing (Principal Accountabilities)
You will be responsible for leading high-priority projects that impact the organization and providing mentorship to other data scientists. Your key responsibilities include:
➤ Leading complex issues and problems, and referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.
➤ Developing custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
➤ Applying algorithms and models to key business metrics to improve operations or answer critical business questions.
➤ Conducting in-depth research, analysis, and modeling on organizational data.
➤ Providing deep data insights from structured and unstructured data using advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and data mining.
➤ Developing and testing hypotheses, and communicating findings in a clear, actionable manner to leadership.
➤ Working closely with teams to identify and resolve data issues, improving the efficiency and scalability of data processes.
➤ Assisting with the evaluation of data science vendors and tools.
Required Qualifications & Must-Haves
✅ Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in data science.
✅ Education: Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related STEM field is required. A Master’s Degree in Data Science is preferred.
✅ Healthcare Background: Professional experience in a hospital setting, medical informatics, or with Electronic Health Record (EHR) data management is preferred.
✅ AWS & Cogito: Must have a strong background with Cogito and an AWS Certification is a must-have.
Skills:
✅ Demonstrated Project Lead experience and the ability to lead high-impact projects.
✅ Proficient in building data sets and using a variety of machine learning techniques.
✅ Skilled in presenting to A-C level executives and executing storytelling with data.
✅ Advanced understanding of SQL and statistical techniques.
✅ Strong written and verbal communication skills in both IT and business environments.
