Schedule: Regular Hours, Monday to Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST)

The Opportunity
Wisdom RecruitmentS is partnered with a leading US client to find a highly experienced and detail-oriented Legal Secretary III to support their Legal Department in Walnut Creek, California.
This is a direct-hire opportunity for an individual with extensive California Civil Litigation experience who thrives in a fast-paced defense trial environment. You will be instrumental in managing complex calendars, preparing critical court documents, and ensuring seamless support for attorneys.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
➤ Litigation Support: Prepare, format, and file complex discovery, pre-trial, and trial documents with the court, ensuring current knowledge of all court rules and procedures.
➤ Coordination & Scheduling: Maintain attorney(s)’ calendars, tickler systems, and schedule all court appearances, client meetings, depositions, and discovery initiated by both plaintiff(s) and defendant(s).
➤ Document Management: Review and re-index mail in systems like OnBase; accurately maintain and organize electronic confidential legal files, ensuring thorough documentation of all activity.
➤ Communication: Compose professional correspondence and memos. Answer and screen telephone calls, contacting clients and co-counsel as required by attorneys.
➤ Transcription: Transcribe dictation and/or type from handwritten material or rough drafts, including pleadings, court forms, reports, and summaries.
➤ Team Support: Act as a reliable backup for other secretaries and participate in department and company projects.
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
✅ Litigation Experience: Minimum of 7 years of defense trial and litigation experience in a similar industry.
✅ California Focus: 3 years of recent California Civil litigation experience is required.
✅ Trial Preparation: Proven, hands-on trial preparation experience is a must.
✅ Typing Speed: Must be able to accurately type 70+ words per minute (wpm).
✅ Education: High school diploma or GED.

✅ Strong organizational and communication skills.
✅ Demonstrated ability to take strong initiative and work independently.
✅ Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Word and working knowledge of case management software.
