The Opportunity: Become an Australian Tax Specialist

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and detail-oriented Assistant Manager in Australian Taxation to join a premier international accounting firm with global offices in India, the UK, Australia, and Ireland.

This is a secure, fully remote role based in Sri Lanka, offering a unique chance to specialize in Australian tax legislation while collaborating with a global team. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality advisory, compliance, and planning services to our Australian client base.

Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas

You will combine hands-on tax work with coordination duties, ensuring seamless client compliance and proactive tax support:

Tax Compliance Mastery: Prepare and rigorously review client tax returns, ensuring full accuracy and adherence to Australian tax regulations. This includes the coordination and lodgement of BAS, IAS, FBT, and other statutory filings.

Advisory Support: Assist senior leadership in providing critical tax advice across areas including Corporate Tax, International Tax, GST, and Personal Tax.

Tax Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of tax-efficient strategies for client businesses and individuals, including assessing tax implications of complex transactions, restructures, and investments.

ATO Management: Support the management of ATO audits, inquiries, and reviews by preparing technical responses and coordinating necessary documentation.

Team Leadership: Guide and mentor junior team members in their daily tasks and technical understanding, fostering internal knowledge-sharing.

Technical Research: Maintain current knowledge of updates in Australian tax legislation, case law, and ATO guidelines to support robust tax positions.

Mandatory Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in Australian taxation.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, Commerce, or a relevant discipline.

Certification: Professional certification (CPA / CA / equivalent) completed or actively in progress.

Technical Knowledge: Sound and practical knowledge of Australian tax laws and compliance requirements is essential.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required for liaising directly with clients and international team members.

Software: Proficiency with tax software and MS Office Suite.
