Our client designs, manufactures, and markets essential electrical, electronic, and fiber optic connectors, coaxial and flat-ribbon cables, and comprehensive interconnect systems. Their innovative products are key enablers for major Tier 1 OEMs globally, serving diverse end markets including communications, information processing (cable television, cellular telephone, data communication, storage), aerospace, military electronics, and automotive/industrial applications.
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Field Applications Engineer to provide critical technical support to our client’s valued customers. This position will be based out of their sales office located in Santa Clara, CA, offering a dynamic environment at the heart of technological innovation.
Key Responsibilities
As a Field Applications Engineer, you will be a vital engineering resource within the sales team, leading the technical aspects of the sales cycle from discovery through design, prototyping, and production. Your role will involve fostering strong business partnerships and providing world-class interconnect solutions. Key responsibilities include:
➤ Customer Interface: Serve as a primary technical interface with customers, collaborating closely with internal product development, product marketing, and the extended sales team.
➤ Technical Marketing Support: Provide comprehensive technical marketing support for the development and design-in of commercial products, including internal/external power, memory, storage, and internal I/O solutions.
➤ Technical Presentations: Prepare and actively participate in technical presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
➤ Material Development: Develop compelling, application-specific customer-facing materials.
➤ Customer Support: Offer expert technical support for all customer inquiries, providing effective product solutions to address their concerns and challenges.
➤ Competitive Strategy: Contribute to devising strategies that effectively differentiate our client’s products and solutions from competitors in the market.
➤ Strategic Objectives: Work diligently to meet and exceed strategic business objectives.
➤ Travel: Some travel will be required to support client engagements and business needs.
Qualifications
We are seeking a proactive and technically proficient individual with a strong foundation in engineering and a passion for customer success.
✅ Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or other technical equivalent is required. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science degrees are preferred.
Experience:
✅ Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Design or Applications Engineering within the electrical hardware components/interconnect solutions industry.
Proven experience in providing product marketing and technical support to achieve design wins.
Skills:
✅ Communication: Proficient in communicating effectively across various organizational hierarchies.
Customer Service: Possesses a high level of customer service orientation and the ability to build strong rapport with customers.
✅ Modeling Tools: Proficient use of modeling tools such as Creo or SolidWorks.
Organizational & Presentation: Strong organizational and presentation skills.
✅ Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
